Ground Turkey Broccoli Slaw

Turkey Broccoli Slaw

Being a wife and a mother brings many challenges! One of which includes making healthy meals for the family! I personally do not have time to pee throughout the day, let alone cook a 45 minute meal. Do you know what can happen in 45 minutes? Yea, short version, older brother locks younger in the bathroom, only to come in and find younger brother hanging out…..in the toilet. That’s a story for another time though.

I’d like to share one of my quick healthy recipes that even my husband will eat.  Ground Turkey Broccoli Slaw. This recipes take approx 20 minutes total.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cup Italian Dressing
  • 1 Pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 Bag Publix Broccoli Slaw
  • McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning (to taste)

Directions

  • Place ground turkey in skillet on med-high heat to brown. While the meat is cooking add the McCormick’s seasoning to it. This seasoning can have a little kick to it so I recommend taste testing the meat to make sure it is to your desired flavor.
  • Drain meat once browned
  • Put the pan back on the stove and turn the heat down to about a 4.
  • Add one cup Italian dressing
  • Add Broccoli Slaw
  • Stir until all blended
  • Add 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • Place cover on skillet and allow to cook until broccoli slaw is tender aprox 6 mintues.
  • Serve

That’s it everyone! This recipe is a go to in our house. It allows the kids to get a great serving of veggies and protein while still tasting good.

Give it a shot and let me know how yours turns out!

I look forward to hearing from all of you!

Mommies Unite!

for-my-about-me-1

Every mom who’s any mom knows, that being a mom is hard work! Whether you are a working mom or a stay at home mom, the challenges we face are more than taxing! We have to learn to take the good with the bad, the hard with the easy, and the smiles with the tears. When did adulting become so tough!?! I remember thinking I had adult life down pat before my 1st child was born. Now here I am, just happy for the days where I don’t end up in my empty bathtub with a blanket and a bottle of tequila! Sheesh!

Being a mom beings sacrifices! We’ve traded purses for diaper bags, heels for house shoes, and cars for vans. We can’t remember the last time we’ve seen our own doctor, bought something for ourselves that wasn’t a latte, or (on the bad weeks) brushed our own hair. I personally don’t even remember the last time I washed my hair with real shampoo and not baby soap (LOL!!).  We run from school, to appointments, to baseball and some nights the kids are getting cheerios for dinner, period. But with all of that, we still wouldn’t trade the time with our little humans.

All in all, I am here to bring all of you peace of mind by sharing my experiences of mom life including the good, the bad, and the ugly. Sometimes us moms just need to know that there are other people out there going through the same things. You are not alone through the fits, the endless hours of Disney or, most importantly, your feelings. I hope everyone enjoys reading about my day to day struggles and hopefully will be inspired to make it through the day!

If  you have any questions you’d like to ask or would like to ask me to write about a specific thing, leave me a comment!

For all you moms out there having a bad day, ill have a moment of silence for you before bed this evening!

Thanks everyone!
